Dumb Blond sold & Bouncy Brunet

Sometimes it's hard to think of the name of a piece but I flicked the picture up and there it was!!! The blank face and  the hair that had dried before anything else and created that 'blond' look. The words just popped out! This are actually two of the few pieces I've made that have no special 'NZ' link but I wanted that bland anonymity and I think I'm going to just love this piece for all the things she might be... or might be thinking... or might be wishing. She is a bit of an enigma, but which woman isn't? And then...  had to push on to develop the idea.. so what about a bouncy brunet?

When the pieces were finally fired there were one or two 'issues' with shrinkage, bending and pieces falling over in the kiln!

Bubbly blond cried out for a bland white finish but with one or two repairs she wasn't for the kiln again so she now has an off white faux stone finish - perfect for an Essex girl.

Bouncy brunet lost a curl in the final firing but has had a minor repair and is looking fine! Her white glaze shoulder and unadorned curls give her an 'au natural' look. The glaze is not as dense and white as I had hoped but hey.. not everything in life (or the kiln) comes out as you expect!
