Whangarei Heads Arts Trail

Whangarei Heads Arts Trail began in 2012 and has rapidly grown to become one of the biggest events on the Northland Arts calendar.  The big 'Easter Weekend' event takes place on Easter Saturday and Sunday each year and brings around 1,500 visitors to 'The Heads'. Exhibitors include painters and potters, furniture makers and fabric artists, photographers, printmakers and glass artists. The WHAT exhibition weekend represents a rare opportunity for visitors to see upwards of 30 artists exhibiting in their own studios or in local community venues, all at the same time and all within easy reach of one another on the same beautiful peninsular. It's a great opportunity to talk to Artists about their work and to see where it was created and what inspired it. For me W.H.A.T. Easter even is the high spot of the year. My work rarely makes it's way into galleries or the open market so this is the place to see it on display! If you have not been to visit Whangarei Heads the 'Arts Trail' weekend is a great time to do so. We have pristine white beaches, amazing coastal walks, great food and beautiful places to stay. If you can't make it at Easter many of the Artists who make up the trail are happy to show you their work year round if you call and make an appointment.
Next year 'The Trail' will again take place on Easter weekend.  For more information on the Easter event or on Artists by Appointment all year round just click on the link below to visit our web site.
